Teacher Jina's story

Hi,

I'm a passionate Korean language teacher and a life journey explorer.

I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. Thanks to my parents I had a wonderful childhood and a lot of support for education from my parents.

I was very interested in learning foreign languages which opened a new world and perspective to me. I majored in German, Chinese and Education at the university. I studied in Germany as an exchange student for a few years. After graduation from the university, I started my career as a marketer in northeast markets including China, Hongkong, Japan and South Korea for an international company originating from Germany. I enjoyed and accomplished many things but I was still looking for full-filled satisfaction in my life and decided to go to China.

Due to my linguistic background, I was chosen to work as a foreign professor in the Korean Department of the University of Jinan in Shandong province, China.

Later I came back to Korea and continued teaching Korean to international students at Dankuk University.

And with my partner, I came to Canada in 2013 and taught Korean at Global Affairs Canada to the diplomats who would work in South Korea. Since 2017 I have been teaching Korean to secondary students in Ottawa and now also work as a public servant in Government Canada.

Jina

- Teacher Jina, M.A., in teaching Korean language to speakers of other languages. She has more than 10 years of experience in teaching Korean to international students in Korea, China and Canada. She published 'A course development of Academic Writing for Chinese speaking learners of Korean Language for an academic purpose' in the Journal of Korean Language Education vol 22-4.

Also, she has an M.B.A in international marketing and 3 years of practical experience in the industrial field. -
